On April 8th, James Cleverly (MP for Braintree, Essex) visited Maycast-Nokes Precision Engineering Ltd for a tour of our production facility and to meet some of our engineers of the future.
Following meetings with the company’s directors James was given a tour of the company, during which he saw our investment/lost wax and precision sand foundries as well as our machine shop and NADCAP approved heat treatment and non-destructive testing departments.
Maycast-Nokes is proud of its ongoing commitment to an extensive apprenticeship programme and James met with a number of apprentices and trainees who explained how they combine hands-on work with a study programme. In recent years two MNPEL apprentices have won awards with the Institute of Cast Metals Engineers and senior NPI manager Vicky Clark recently gained a Foundation Degree in ‘Casting Technology’ from Bradford University.
Commenting on Twitter, James said ‘Great to visit specialist metal casting company Maycast-Nokes. Proper, high end manufacturing in the heart of rural Essex’ before hinting that 5-axis milling machines possibly didn’t excite him as much as they do us…
We can’t argue with that!
Maycast-Nokes would like to thank James for his time and continued support.
