Essex manufacturer announces record year with a £6m annual turnover

A leading Essex engineering company has launched a recruitment drive to help meet growing demands after recording its highest ever annual turnover.

Maycast-Nokes in Halstead, is recruiting up 20 new employees after reaching an annual turnover of £6m for 2013-2014, with the company predicting a further increase of up to £6.5m for 2014-2015.

The company - which specialises in the manufacture of high quality precision castings – has seen continued growth through repeat business from clients in the aerospace sector and significant business wins in new markets such as the optician and automotive sectors.

David Blower, the company’s sales director, said: “We are delighted with our continued growth, which has created a number of new job opportunities for which we are now actively recruiting.

“This is all part of our continued plans for growth and we can confidently predict a realistic turnover of £6.5m for the next financial year, which is great news for us, our workforce and the local economy.

“We feel our success is due to the way we get the basics right. In addition to having a highly skilled workforce able to produce castings of the highest standards we take a very serious approach to good customer service ensuring we engage in effective and clear communications with our clients at all times. We always aim to be responsive and flexible to ensure we can meet client needs no matter how challenging they may be.”

The company now has openings for production engineers, maintenance engineers, machine operators, setters and programmers, labourers, foundry hands, production operatives, production assistants and a receptionist. The current workforce at the Halstead site is 120.
