Maycast-Nokes has won the Medium Employer Of The Year 2017 (East of England) at the regional final of the National Apprenticeship Awards 2017.

The Awards, now in their fourteenth year, are run by the National Apprenticeship Service and recognise excellence in businesses that grow their own talent with apprentices.

On being announced as winner, David Blower, Sales Director said: "We are thrilled to have won the National Apprenticeship Award for Medium Employer of the Year (East of England). Aerospace foundry engineering is inherently complex and apprenticeships are vital to our long term success. They provide the perfect blend of theory and hands-on learning. Our students spend time working in our manufacturing departments, gaining an understanding of how castings are manufactured, machined, treated and inspected and it is very satisfying to see so many ex-apprentices now holding key engineering roles within the company"

"Special thanks should also go to our training partners Colchester Institute, Harlow College, Institute of Cast Metal Engineers and BITECH as well as the Braintree District Education & Skills Board who we are working with to help drive apprenticeship uptake in the area"

Regional winners will now progress to the next stage of the competition, where their applications will be assessed by a national judging panel. National finalists will be announced in December and will be invited to the final ceremony on 18 January 2018 at the Grosvenor House Hotel in London.
